Hello everyone!
I'm new here.
But I'm on a music-instigated Feels-jag today, and want to talk about the songs that inspire and anchor our work.

I've always had voices in my head telling me the music I liked was bad or uncool in some way [smh], so being honest about my musical inspiration always makes me feel certain I'm about to be ridiculed. But I've found so many great songs through others' shared love.
So here goes.

I hereby submit "Heaven I Know" by Gordi as the emotional anchor to Prime's history/unraveling/evolution in astolat's "Victory Condition" which I just finished podficcing. It's got the right mix of hope and heaviness to it. And above all, TRYING.

I don't have a song for Megatron's journey, because he has "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas" already.

As for my own fic -- my first major story, "A Transformation in Five Acts" was deeply anchored in the Goo Goo Dolls' "Let Love In" album, especially the song "Can't Let it Go." But around the time I finally finished the whole sweeping saga, their song "Notbroken" hit, and hit me like a semi truck (as it were...) because it was perfect.

James Roberts posted soundtrack songs for each issue of More Than Meets The Eye/Lost Light.
And some of them are seared into my soul now.
But my own personal adoptions of Song That Will Forever Now Be About Robots include:
"Let Her Go" by Passenger, for Rewind's death
"High Hopes" by Kodaline, for the anticipation of Season Two
"Moving On" by James, for the anticipation of Season Three

Thanks for reading!
